How to Create a Zoom Account 

This guide will show you how to create a free Zoom account from your computer or mobile device, phone, ipad, tablet, etc. 

Having a Zoom account is important for joining your Unchained Leader coaching calls, new member interviews, or strategy calls. 

Even though you can technically join Zoom meetings as a guest, we highly recommend creating your free account to ensure a smooth experience.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have the following ready before starting the steps below:

• A reliable internet connection

• Access to a computer, laptop, mobile phone or device

• A valid email address that you can log into

• A web browser installed (Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.)

Tip: If you’re using a shared computer, log out of any other Zoom accounts before you begin this setup.

Step-By-Step Instructions 

Step 1: Open your internet browser

• Use a browser like Google Chrome, Safari, or Firefox

• In the search bar, type: zoom account sign up

• Look for and click the link that says zoom.us/signup

Step 2: Verify your age

• Zoom requires you to confirm you're over 18

• Enter the year you were born

• Click Continue

Step 3: Enter your email address

• Use a valid email address that you can access

• Enter the email into the field provided

• Click Continue

Step 4: Check your email for a verification code

• Go to your inbox and look for an email from Zoom

• Copy or write down the 6-digit verification code they send you


• Return to the Zoom page and enter the code

• Click Verify

Step 5: Enter your name and create a password

• Type your first and last name

• Create a secure password and enter it twice

• Leave the “educator” box unchecked (you do not need this for Unchained Leader)

• Click Continue

Step 6: Skip the Pro account trial

• Zoom may offer a free trial of the Pro plan

• Scroll down and click “Take me to a basic account”

• The basic free account is all you need for Unchained Leader

Step 7: Skip adding your phone number (optional)

• You may be asked to add a phone number

• You can choose “No thanks”

• It's optional, and your account will still work without it

Step 8: Access your Zoom account dashboard

• You’ll now be logged into your Zoom account

• From here, you can manage your profile and settings

• If you want to download Zoom to your computer, click Download Zoom, then follow the onscreen instructions

You’re all set!

You now have a free Zoom account and are ready to join any Unchained Leader coaching call, strategy session, or member interview.
