What to Do If Your Facebook Account Is Blocked or Disabled

Before You Begin

Make sure you are using the correct login information (email/phone number and password) for your Facebook account

Have access to the email or phone number linked to your Facebook profile.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Try Logging Into Facebook

Go to www.facebook.com

Enter your login credentials (email/phone and password)
Click Log In

If you cannot log in, you may see a message that your account is disabled or restricted.

Step 2: Follow the On-Screen Instructions

Facebook will usually give a reason and next steps on the screen.
You may be asked to:

• Verify your identity
  

• Submit a photo ID
  

• Confirm your phone number
  

• Submit an appeal
  

Click the appropriate links or buttons to begin the process (recover account)

Step 3: Visit Facebook's Help Center

If you're not seeing instructions, go directly to:

https://www.facebook.com/help

Search for:

• “My Facebook account is disabled”

• “Appeal a decision about my account”
  

You’ll be guided through the appeal or reactivation process

Step 4: Set Up a Backup Plan for Community Access

While you're waiting for Facebook to review or reactivate your account:
