How to Join a WhatsApp Group Chat as a New Member (Men's 90 Days To Freedom Program)

Before You Begin

  • You must already be a member of the Unchained Leader program

  • You’ll need the WhatsApp application installed on your phone

  • Make sure you’re logged in to WhatsApp using your phone number and setup your account

  • You must be comfortable sharing your number with others in a group chat setting

Step 1: Understand the Purpose of the Group Chats

Unchained Leader helps create WhatsApp group chats for newly onboarded members.

These are small, peer-to-peer groups to help you connect and build brotherhood with others in the program.

Joining is optional, and chats are not always monitored by Unchained Leader team members

Step 2: Join the Chat During Your Onboarding Call

Most new members are offered a WhatsApp group chat invite during their:

  • New member strategy call, or

  • Interview call

(If you already received an invite link, then simply open the link to join)

Example of what a group chat name may look like once you click on the link

If you did not receive a link, or missed your opportunity to join, move on to Step 3.

Step 3: Contact Support to Join a Chat

If you weren’t added to a group chat and want to join, email our team at:

support@unchainedleader.com

Be sure to include:

  • Your full name

  • Your email address associated with your UL account and your phone number

  • The part of the program you’re in (e.g., “Week 3 of 90 Days to Freedom”)

  • That you’d like to be connected with a WhatsApp group if possible

Our team will gladly match you with a chat group

(this is usually done by one of our volunteer support team members who are often Admins of these small group chats)

Step 4: Use WhatsApp Responsibly

Please note:

  • WhatsApp group chats are unofficial

  • These chats are not guaranteed to be monitored by the Unchained Leader team (Unlike our private Facebook Group) and individual posts are not filters through a Unchained Leader Admin.

  • You are voluntarily sharing your phone number and information with others in the group

  • You are responsible for how and when you engage in the group

  • We encourage you to connect, share your wins and struggles, and build real brotherhood—but do so at your own discretion.

  • We also expect any members involved with a group chat within the Unchained Leader community to uphold and abide by the community guidelines and standards outlined in your onbaording agreement.

  • If you or another member ever have any concerns about a situation or misconduct from another community member, please report this immediately to our Member Support Team, or the WhatsApp Chat Admin, (if they are a UL Team Member).
We take to protection of our community seriously and want to always support and create a safe environment for growth and healing.

Step 5: Stay Connected in the Official Facebook Group

While WhatsApp is great for small group connection, the main official community is our private Facebook group.

This is where:

  • Unchained Leader announcements are made

  • Program updates and reminders are shared

  • You can post questions, wins, and progress there as well

If you haven’t joined yet, search Unchained Leader Community on Facebook and request to join.

You're all set!

You’ve now learned how to:

  • Understand the purpose and limits of WhatsApp group chats

  • Join a chat during or after onboarding

  • Contact support if you missed the invite

  • Use WhatsApp with discretion and privacy in mind

  • Stay engaged through the official Facebook group

Still Stuck?

If you’ve followed these steps and are still having trouble, please reach out to our member support team.
