How to Create a WhatsApp Account on Your Phone or Mobile Device 

This guide will walk you through downloading, installing, and setting up WhatsApp on your smartphone, tablet, iPad, or mobile device. 

WhatsApp is often used for group and individual communication within Unchained Leader, so having it set up properly is important to stay connected.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have the following ready:

• A smartphone with internet access (Wi-Fi or data).
  
  

• Access to your App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android).
  
  

• A working mobile number that can receive text messages (SMS).

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1: Download the WhatsApp app

• Click Here to see a step-by-step guide on how to download and install the WhatApp application
  
  

Step 2: Open the app and agree to terms

• Tap the WhatsApp icon to open it
  
  

• Tap “Agree and Continue” to accept the terms
  
  
  
  

Step 3: Allow notifications

• Tap “Allow” when prompted to enable notifications from WhatsApp
  
  

Step 4: Select your country and enter your phone number

• Use the dropdown to choose your country
  
  

• Type in your mobile phone number
  
  

• Tap Next
  
  

Step 5: Verify your phone number

• Wait for a text message (SMS) with a 6-digit code
  
  

• Enter the code into the app when prompted
  
  
  

Step 6: Grant contact access

• Tap Allow to let WhatsApp access your contacts
  
  

• This will show you which of your contacts also use WhatsApp
  
  

Step 7: (Optional) Allow media and audio access

• You may be prompted to allow WhatsApp to access your microphone, camera, and photos
  
  

• Tap Allow if you want to share media or make voice/video calls
  
  

Step 8: Set up your display name

• Enter the name and profile photo you’d like others to see in WhatsApp
  
  

• Tap Next to finish setup
  
  

Step 9: Join a group chat (if applicable)

• If you're part of Unchained Leader and received an invitation to a WhatsApp group:

  • Tap the invitation link sent to you
    
    

  • It will automatically open in WhatsApp
    
    

  • Then tap on "Join Chat"
    
    

  • (See below for an example of a Unchained Leader small group chat invite)
    
    

You’re All Set!

• You now have WhatsApp installed and ready to use with your contacts or Unchained Leader group.
