Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open your saved document (if still open) IF not, then skip to step #5

If you just finished filling out your lesson and still have the tab open:

  • Look at the top left corner of the document

  • You’ll see the document title, like:
i.e. “Copy of Week 1 Day 1 – Cost vs. Payoff”

Step 2: Check where the document is saved

  • Look next to the document title for a small folder icon with an arrow

  • Hover over it—it should say "Move"

  • Click on it to view where your file is saved

Step 3: Move your document (if needed)

  • A window will open showing your folders

  • Click on your folder (i.e. "Unchained Leader Docs")

  • Tap Move to save it there

Step 4: Close your document tab

If you’re finished for now:

  • Click the “X” on the tab to close the document

  • Don’t worry—Google Docs saves automatically

Step 5: Open Google Drive in a new tab

  • Open a new browser tab

  • Type Google Drive into the search bar

  • Click the link that takes you to Google Drive

Step 6: Make sure you're signed in

  • Look at the top right corner of the screen

  • You should see your name or email—this means you’re logged in

  • If not, sign in using your Google account

Step 7: Go to your Drive homepage

You may see your document under “Recent,” but to be sure:

  • Click My Drive or Home on the left sidebar

  • Look for the folder where you saved your document

Step 8: Open your folder

  • Double-click the folder title:
i.e. "Unchained Leader Docs – [Your Name]"

  • All saved lesson documents should be here

Step 9: Find and open your saved document

  • Look for your saved file (example:  i.e. “Copy of Week 1 Day 1 – Cost vs. Payoff”)

  • Double-click the document to open it

Step 10: Resume working on your document

  • Once it opens, you can continue typing or editing

  • All changes are saved automatically as long as your device is connected to the internet

  • When you’re done, just close the tab again

You're all set!

You’ve now learned:

  • How to check where your document is saved

  • How to move it to your folder

  • How to find and reopen it later from Google Drive
